Where Every Child Feels at Home

Each of our rooms is designed to provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for every child. We prioritize consistency and continuity of care, working closely with parents to ensure that each child’s routine is respected and supported. Our friendly and dedicated team of staff is committed to building strong relationships with both children and parents, fostering a sense of security and trust. We offer a comfortable, home-like atmosphere where children can grow, learn, and explore at their own pace.

Babies

Located in its own bungalow on our nursery site, our dedicated Under 2s Unit cares for children from 6 weeks old. We have two rooms, which are designed in the style of a family home, helping the transition to nursery in a cosy, peaceful and familiar environment.

We will work closely with you as your child settles into the room. Our friendly team will follow your home routine, so that your child has consistency with feeding and sleeping. We place an importance on building a close relationship with you so that we can work together on giving your baby the best possible care and give you peace of mind each day.

Your child will be cared for by a committed team of nursery nurses specifically trained to care for this age group. The team are permanently based in the room, providing consistency and continuity for your baby.

Home-from-home environment

Our friendly, home-from-home environment is designed to provide a calm and cosy place for your child to grow. This helps to support your baby's transition to nursery.

The room has several different areas to support their needs. Younger babies will enjoy toys, displays and activities designed to stimulate them and encourage their curiosity. Older babies will enjoy free play, with age-appropriate toys as they satisfy their inquisitive minds.

Helping your baby to grow

Each day, your child's key person will plan activities based around your child's needs. Tracking their growth, they will identify areas of development which need extra support and design activities accordingly.

We follow the Development Matters in the Early Years Foundation Stage, which helps to stimulate and promote all areas of development through exploration and experimentation.

Learning through play outdoors

The baby room has direct access to our dedicated baby garden, which is separated by a picket fence from the rest of our outdoor play area. This fantastic area allows your baby to enjoy outdoor play in a secure and controlled environment.

Some children prefer to learn and play outdoors, so your child will enjoy age-appropriate games and toys outside every day.

Following your routine

To provide consistency for your child, we will work with you to follow your home routine and adapt as it changes.

Eating
We will follow your child's ever-changing feeding routine at home and will cooperate fully with the weaning process. We provide cow's milk formula and parents are welcome to provide breast milk. For older children, our nursery cook produces delicious, freshly prepared meals.

Sleeping
Your child will sleep in cots in our sleeping area. We will follow your child's sleeping routine at home to ensure consistency.

Toddlers

Depending on your child’s development, they will likely join our toddler rooms between two and three years of age. At this vital stage in their development, this room supports them as they begin to develop their confidence and independence and begin to manage their feelings.

Developing your child's independence

This is the age when your child will begin to develop a sense of independence. We encourage this by helping them to make their own decisions and they will have free access to games and toys so they can choose what they want to play with.

This will continue throughout the day, including at meal times when they will begin to serve their own food and drink at the table.

Learning through play

Your child will develop their skills as they learn through play, enjoying group games and one-on-one exercises. These will support them as they begin to learn essentials such as counting, shapes and colours.

During the day, our friendly team will help to guide your child towards planned games and activities designed to support their growth.

Your child will also have direct access to our stunning outdoor play area, which provides numerous opportunities to learn, play and grow.

Helping your child to grow

At this key time in your child's development, we support them as they begin to manage their feelings and relationships with their peers.

Your child will have a dedicated key person, who will track their progress. Each child will develop at a different rate and we will work with you to set next steps to help your child's development.

Eat, sleep and grow

We believe that mealtimes are social occasions and your child will eat at the table with their friends. Meals are freshly prepared each day by our nursery cooked and are designed with health in mind.

Throughout the day, your child will have access to water or milk and will choose when they would like to eat their healthy snack.

Those children who need to sleep will have the opportunity to do so and will sleep on individual mats with their own bed linen, provided by the nursery.

Pre-School

In this room, your child will continue to develop their skills while getting ready for the transition to school. We will work with you to decide when your child is developmentally ready to move into this room, typically around their third birthday.

From this room, our pre-school children feed into a number of local primary schools so it is likely that your child will make friends at nursery that they will go into Reception with.

Getting ready for school

As they start preparing for school, life in the pre-school room is slightly more structured than in the younger rooms, although your child will still learn through play. Your child will be supported as they begin to develop the independence needed for schools - for example, putting on their coat or taking responsibility for their possessions.

We work closely with your child's new school, providing them with information about your child's progress to help make the transition seamless. Your child's Reception class teacher will be invited to visit them at nursery and we run school readiness activities, like role playing with school uniforms.

Stimulating activities

Your child will enjoy free flow play to support their independence - meaning that they can access all toys and games under the supervision of our friendly team.

Their key person will track their progress and plan fun and stimulating activities based on their individual development needs.

Your child will have access to the outdoor play area, which is designed to offer the same development opportunities as indoor play. This will mean that you child will continue to grow wherever they decide they want to play each day.

Trips away from nursery

Your child will enjoy frequent outings away from the nursery to learn more about the world around them. This might be a visit to the local library, the park or the greengrocers.

The trips are designed to support their development - for example, they might count fruit and vegetables at the greengrocers to support their numeracy.

Mealtimes

We believe that mealtimes are social occasions, where your child can continue to develop their social and communication skills. So you child will sit at the table with their friends during meals.

We find that while eating with their peers, children are more likely to try different foods, including those that they refuse to eat at home.

Mealtimes also help to support your child's independence, as they serve their own food and drink with the support of our team.
